‘Peter Pan’ Meets ‘Blow’: 14 Greatest Disney Movie Mashups

Comedy lesson one at comedy community college (taught by professors from the Comedy.com back alley) is “Clash of Context,” and it doesn’t get much context clashier than Disney movies edited to look like hard-hitting dramas or violent action movies. (Although, these 12 Video Game Mashups are pretty good.) Comedy lesson two is putting things into lists (like these 8 “Harry Potter” Sex Spoofs). Comedy lesson three is the “rule of three,” but I don’t believe in that rule so there is no joke here. Read on for the 14 Greatest Disney Movie Mashups.

14. “Finding Nemo”/”Crash”
Sandra Bullock as a starfish makes a surprising amount of sense, but I’m confused which fish are the Mexicans. In “West Side Story,” it was the sharks, right?

13. “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”/”Sin City”
I wish someone had made a mashup with “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” audio and “Sin City” visuals, I’ll have to settle for this, the opposite of my wish.

12. “Peter Pan”/”Blow”
The connection between Disney’s “Peter Pan” and drugs is obvious, especially if you are on drugs.

11. “The Lion King”/”Last King of Scotland”
Why didn’t they take the extra time to give Scar a slightly lazy eye?

10. “WALL-E”/”Watchmen”
This is one of the best edited entries, but it works too well, so it ends up not being funny.

9. “Toy Story”/”Pineapple Express”
What’s the matter with you masherupers? Why are there so few comedies on this list that I compiled and you have no control over?

8. “Ratatouille”/”Miami Vice”
Who didn’t watch “Ratatouille” and think of the parallels with the forgotten 2006 movie version of the iconic cop drama from the 80s?

7. “Cars”/”Talladega Nights”
“Cars”/”Talladega Nights” is the story about a arrogant racecar driver/racecar who falls from grace, but, with help from an unlikely mentor, Ricky Bobby/Lighting McQueen returns for a final race with his hated rival. How much of a mashup is it, if they are basically the same movie?

6. “Robin Hood”/”Braveheart”
I wish they would follow through on this idea all the way. I’m interested in seeing a sex scene between fox William Wallace and a chicken princess.

5. “Alice In Wonderland”/”Kill Bill”
There’s a surprisingly high number of Tarantino mashups on this list. I believe this is because Tarantino draws so much of his inspiration from other films and filmmakers, giving his movies a postmodern sensibility that attracts the type of artists who do recuts and mashups. (This is the first time I’ve ever used my film degree, so that sentence cost me 50 thousand dollars.)

4. “Fox and the Hound”/”Brokeback Mountain”
Internet regulations mandate that there is at least one “Brokeback” appearance on any list of trailer mashups.

3. “Kill Bill”/ “Beauty and the Beast”
Get ready for a metaphor, because samurai swords are like the bacon of cinema. Adding them makes everything automatically better. That being said, this trailer has added samurai swords.

2. Muppets/”Pulp Fiction”
I’m including this, even though it isn’t a cartoon, because technically the Disney company owns the Muppets, and technically this is awesome. This is some of the best Muppet casting in a mashup ever.

1. “The Dark Knight”/”Toy Story 2″
This deserves a Webby or a web-Oscar or a web-Grammy or whatever they give away for best editing (on the web).

Honorable Mentions:
These aren’t technically trailers, but they fit in with the theme and are funny, which is why I’ve mentioned them, honorably.

“Being Pinocchio”
“Being John Malkovich” plus “Pinocchio” equals a wood puppet cussing.

“Dirty Little Mermaid”
This is the best song about a fish-woman wanting a vagina.

“Lion King” / “Pulp Fiction” Dub
Samuel L. Jackson should voice all meerkats. Someone get him to redub “Meerkat Manor.”
