Box Office Preview: Movie About Terminal Disease Still Better Than Disease-Free Guinea Pigs

If you haven’t head that Judd Apatow has a movie called Funny People opening up this weekend then you must be dead. And if you’re dead, you’ve figured out how to get onto the internet which, by the way, is a great movie pitch: Dead guy communicates with the living through Google. Call our agents. Let’s make this movie, Judd! Back to the box office. Best part about the promotional push for this new Apatow movie is the Randy character. They’re working on a movie just for him and that’s awesome. So who will be Box Office King this weekend? We think the funny people behind Funny People are going to kick some serious guinea pig ass.

Funny People

This will be another refreshing change of pace for the star of the movie, Adam Sandler, whose You Don’t Mess with the Zohan finally proved that you can release a big screen comedy without including the comedy. The title of the movie makes it seem that it’s all one big happy movie about the folks who do standup. But the plot has Sandler’s character fighting a terminal disease. Apatow deals with mortality in this film, and it could shake some moviegoers. Ready for the big twist in this movie — spoiler alert — we’re all going to die… one day. Boo-yah!

G-Force

This movie was originally titled The G-Spot but the studio didn’t think it would be appropriate for younger audiences, although the moms would be telling other moms “too bad my husband can’t find mine.” And they would have a nice laugh. It would like watching James Bond mention the name Pussy Galore and your Dad would laugh his ass off, and you’d have no idea what the hell was so funny. And you were 22 at time which is really sad. Well the covert guinea pigs stuck a magic wand up Harry Potter’s butt last weekend and became box office champs, but these tiny creatures should fall into second as Funny People will be more amusing than these rodents, and we’re not talking about Hollywood agents. Boo-yah. Just wanted to say that once more.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Potter is not going anywhere. The movie will open on IMAX theaters and that could give wizard nerds the orgasms they’ve been waiting for. The IMAX additions should give the film a big boost. The movie has already grossed $221 million. That’s a magical amount. Even more magical than the scene in the movie where Harry magically makes his crabs disappear after doing it with that whore Hermione.

The Ugly Truth

Bad reviews. Bad movie. But women who want to go see a romantic movie together and go eat fries at Chilli’s afterward need something like this. This is the perfect movie for them until the sequel to Sex and the City comes out. The Ugly Truth did well for an R-Rated romantic comedy. Katherine Heigl’s next role will have her playing a diva who is totally difficult to work with. Oh wait, that’s just tomorrow in real life.
