With just a few days to go before Judd Apatow’s Funny People hits the big screen, we’re getting word the character Randy could get his own movie soon. We’re also seeing part three of a mocumentary — via FunnyOrDie — about the fictional standup comic Randy. He’s played by Aziz Ansari who you can see in NBC’s Parks & Recreation.
We’ve already seen the fake trailers for the movies for Adam Sandler’s character in the film. Aziz plays one of those awful comedians who has a huge following. We can’t think of anyone who would resemble that. Judd Apatow had this to say about Randy to JoBlo’s Movie Emporium:
“Randy isn’t in [Funny People] anywhere near as much we wish he was. Something hilariously magical happened when Aziz showed up. So we all said, ‘What else can we do?’ Let’s just make a documentary! We just couldn’t stop writing for him. And now we’re talking about making the RANDY movie. We can’t get enough of Randy…”
