He’s funny. He’s British. And he actually has straight teeth. He’s Russell Brand, and he’s starring in his own movie based on the rock star character from “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” In real life, Brand tried every drug in the book, from cannabis to crack cocaine, and if he lost a few more pounds and decided not to bathe for a month, he’d look exactly like Amy Winehouse, except a lot more feminine.
The new movie that’s being shot is “Get Him to the Greek” in which Brand’s character must travel from London to Los Angeles to perform a concert. The only problem is that he’s fallen off the wagon, so his record label ends up sending a recent college grad, played by Jonah Hill, to escort the drug-addicted star to the concert. We’re big fans of Jonah Hill. He’s huge. No, we mean it. He’s massive. That’s part of his charm. But how long before he goes on a diet and all he talks about is exercising and lifting weights. It’s a serious condition called the Joe Piscopo Syndrome that affects a lot of comic actors.
MTV went behind the scenes of “Get Him to the Greek” and Russell gives viewers a tour.
